SIDESTREET / THE DETAILS

Privacy policy

This policy describes how Sidestreet handles information when you read the guide or contact the publisher. The publisher is Sidestreet Guides.

Browsing and search

You can browse without creating an account. Search runs in your browser using the guide index; search terms are not submitted to a search service. This site does not request your GPS location or store a selected city. Fonts and photographs are served with the site.

Hosting logs

When the site is hosted, its hosting provider may process IP addresses, browser information and requested pages to deliver the website, maintain security and troubleshoot errors. This site is hosted on Vercel. For the provider’s processing and retention practices, see Vercel’s privacy policy.

Correspondence

If you email the publisher, your email address and message are used to respond, investigate corrections and handle the request. Please send only the information needed. You can ask the publisher about deletion or access to your correspondence through publisher contact information. Information may need to be retained to resolve a dispute or meet an applicable obligation.

Advertising status

Google advertising is not currently enabled. The following section explains the planned advertising service; it does not mean advertising cookies are active today.

Google advertising cookies

If Google advertising is enabled, third-party vendors, including Google, may use cookies based on your previous visits to this and other websites. Google and its partners may use advertising cookies to show personalised ads across websites.

You can manage personalised advertising through Google My Ad Center. Participating third-party vendors also offer controls through industry advertising choices. Learn how Google processes information on partner sites in Google’s partner-site privacy information.

Consent and choices

Before advertising is activated, the publisher must configure the applicable consent messages and choices. Where required, visitors can accept or decline relevant processing and manage their preferences through the consent service. Google-certified consent management is required for personalised Google advertising to readers in the EEA, UK and Switzerland.

Analytics and your choices

We use Google Analytics 4 to understand which guides readers visit and how they use the site. Google Analytics loads only after you select Accept analytics. It may use first-party cookies and process page visits, browser and device information, approximate location and engagement. Advertising storage and personalisation are disabled in this analytics setup.

Choose Reject analytics to browse without Google Analytics, or use the Analytics preferences button to change your choice. Your choice is saved in this browser for six months. Withdrawing consent reloads the page and clears accessible Google Analytics cookies. We omit URL query strings and fragments from the page addresses we send, and do not send internal search terms to Analytics.
